 
        
        As Student Advice & Academic Support Adviser, you will join our advice team to provide professional, impartial, confidential and high-quality advice on academic issues, housing and money management.
Responsibilities
 * Provide professional, impartial advice on academic, housing and money-related issues
 * Support students through appeals, complaints, disciplinary and progression processes
 * Advise on tenancy agreements, deposits, disputes and rent or housing concerns
 * Deliver budgeting and financial wellbeing guidance
 * Record and manage confidential casework accurately using our case system
 * Represent or accompany students in hearings and meetings
 * Lead wellbeing projects and promote the Advice service across the University
 * Create engaging digital content for social media, website and newsletters
 * Stay informed on University policies, data protection and best practice in advice delivery
 * Assist with administrative duties to ensure smooth operation of the Advice team
Qualifications
 * Experience in advice or casework roles such as academic, housing or financial advice
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 * Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, social media and case management systems
 * Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and best practice in advice work
 * Ability to manage a varied caseload and work both independently and collaboratively
 * Strong attention to detail and research skills
 * Positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
 * Experience in higher education or student welfare (desirable)
 * Knowledge of academic processes such as appeals and complaints, or willingness to learn (desirable)
