The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and ensuring the well-being of our residents. This role is perfect for someone who has experience in care and is ready to take the next step in their career or already thrives in a senior role.
Your Responsibilities:
* Leading and supporting a team of care assistants to deliver person-centered care.
* Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families to ensure their needs are met.
* Administering medication in line with care plans and training.
* Assisting with personal care, meal times, and day-to-day activities.
* Monitoring and reporting on residents' health and well-being.
* Ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
* Acting as a mentor to new team members and supporting ongoing staff development.
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care.
* Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
* Drive initiatives that promote resident engagement and well-being within the care home.
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
About You
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, and motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a care role (essential).
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
* Medication administration experience (preferred but not essential – training can be provided).
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* A caring and patient approach with a focus on dignity and respect.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
