We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join our dynamic Respiratory team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an internal candidate to develop their clinical expertise within a supportive and forward-thinking department.This role will provide high-quality care for patients with respiratory conditions across inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team settings. The post holder will work as part of the Respiratory Medicine team, supporting consultants and contributing to service delivery, education, and clinical governance. Main duties of the job Direct Clinical Care: - Participate in daily respiratory ward rounds and inpatient care. - Manage acute respiratory admissions and ward referrals. - Conduct outpatient respiratory clinics (general and specialist, e.g., asthma, COPD, ILD). - Perform diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy and EBUS (training provided if required). - Attend and contribute to Lung Cancer MDT meetings. - Provide advice to other specialties on respiratory issues. Supporting Professional Activities: - Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement projects. - Engage in CPD and mandatory training. - Contribute to teaching of medical students and junior doctors. - Participate in departmental meetings and service development.
