The Post:
To meet the increasing demand from internal NSS customers, NHS Boards, Scottish Government, and the wider Public Sector in Scotland, NSS Digital & Security are recruiting two Solutions Architects. The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world class digital and security expertise, solutions, and services to our customers.
A critical role in ensuring integrated business technology strategy and delivery of effective solutions and services is the Solutions Architect position. The post holder will be responsible for providing technology solutions architecture and design leadership to implement significant national solutions and services across NHS Scotland, ensuring that solutions and service aligns to the required business and operational outcomes necessary to support the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
You will be responsible for:
1. Leading and undertaking solutions architecture and design activities as part of significant and complex customer projects and other initiatives
2. Working as part of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to ensure that technology solutions are efficient, robust, secure, and aligned with agreed outcomes and roadmaps
3. Leading and supporting the development of future state architecture and providing digital and technology strategic advice and guidance to NHS Scotland and other Public Sector customers
You will be a key player in the development of the Architecture function and, in partnership with Enterprise Architects, Solutions Architects, Digital Business Analysts, Consultants and other Digital & Security teams (Clinical, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering & Operations, and Information Security & Governance), ensuring a consistent, robust and professional approach to architecture and design.
The Candidate:
You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent, demonstrable experience. Knowledge and experience of solutions architecture and design within significant and complex projects is required. In addition, you should be delivery minded, curious and tenacious to drive new ways of working and technology implementation to achieve step changes in delivery capability. The ability to lead and manage a team is required.
Location and Working Pattern:
The posts can be based at either Gyle Square in Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
We are currently working in a hybrid model, which is currently under review, and we would welcome a discussion from candidates not based near the above locations to discuss the logistics of this.
Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
