About the Position
We are seeking a confident and organised Dispatcher Scheduler to support the coordination of field engineers and ensure customer requests are handled efficiently. The role requires someone experienced in planning or scheduling who can manage a varied workload, communicate clearly, and keep operations running smoothly in a busy environment. You will work closely with engineers, customers, and managers, becoming a key point of contact in the daily running of the service function.
The Role:
Answer and manage incoming and outgoing calls, recording information accurately
Maintain regular communication with customers, keeping them updated on progress
Schedule and assign engineers for routine maintenance and urgent callouts
Monitor live jobs, track delays, and escalate issues when necessary
Manage engineer availability and coordinate absences alongside line managers
Review and process engineer timesheets, including overtime and productivity
Check job charges, resolve billing errors, and maintain accurate records
Contribute to team meetings and provide updates on workload and resource needs
Support performance monitoring and flag any concerns to management
What skills do we need?
Practical experience in planning, scheduling, or dispatching (preferably involving engineers or drivers)
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑moving environment with changing priorities
Clear and confident communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email systems
SAP or similar system experience is helpful but not essential
Background in a service‑driven industry (logistics, transport, engineering, MHE, etc.) is an advantage
Someone who takes initiative, works well within a team, and enjoys problem‑solving
