About the Role
Location: Across Glasgow – Bridgeton, Maryhill
Contract: 18 hour contract
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) support adults with learning disabilities in their own homes, helping them live happy and healthy lives. Your role will include assisting with personal care, moving and handling, positive behavioural support, and expanding their social networks and connections.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
* Support mobility and safe handling of clients.
* Provide positive behavioural support and help develop coping strategies.
* Encourage participation in social activities and local clubs.
* Help maintain tenancy, plan budgets, and manage household tasks.
* Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet clients’ goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Commitment, dedication, and a genuine desire to support individuals with learning disabilities.
* Transferable skills and a values‑based approach; prior care experience is not required.
* Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to undertake training and, if required, to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 3 months of start date.
* Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying client needs.
