Purpose of the role
To support our Test Bed operations by carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, calibration and testing of instrumentation, control and monitoring systems on pump packages. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and accuracy of performance testing and data acquisition.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and data acquisition systems, including Bently Nevada vibration probes using 3500 racks and System 1 software.
* Work with temperature probes, temperature and pressure transmitters, and Allen Bradley PLC Flex IO (RSLogix experience an advantage).
* Wire pump packages and perform system checks in preparation for performance testing.
* Read and interpret Instrument Wiring Diagrams and P&IDs to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
* Support the Test Bed team in fault-finding, repairs, and continuous improvement of electrical and instrumentation systems.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Apprenticeship training in an electrical discipline, ideally with knowledge of control and monitoring systems.
* Ability to work from Instrument Wiring Diagrams and P&IDs.
* Experience in maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
* Knowledge of Bently Nevada vibration probes, temperature/pressure transmitters, and Allen Bradley PLC Flex IO desirable.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and effectively in a busy production environment.
* Flexibility, teamwork and a proactive approach to problem solving.
