We are assisting our client a privately-owned and discreet legal services firm operating in the residential property sector across England & Wales. The firm is committed to delivering high-quality, client-centred conveyancing work and maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, professional conduct and confidentiality. They are now on an exciting journey where development and progression is at the forefront of their plans for their employees, they are now looking for an experienced Legal Conveyancer.
As Legal Conveyancer, you will take ownership of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion handling both freehold and leasehold matters. You will provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties, ensuring that each matter is managed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions (freehold & leasehold) from instruction to completion.
* Review, draft and prepare all required legal documentation including contracts for sale, transfer deeds, mortgage documentation and completion statements.
* Advise and update clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties throughout the process; ensure exceptional client care, timely communications and full professional service.
* Conduct due diligence: title checks, local authority / environmental / water & drainage searches, review enquiries and correspondence.
* Ensure all work complies with statutory and regulatory obligations: anti-money laundering, data protection, professional conduct rules (e.g., Solicitors Regulation Authority, Council for Licensed Conveyancers, etc.).
* Prepare completion statements, calculate Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) or Land Transaction Tax where applicable, file returns and oversee client monies in accordance with professional accounts rules.
* Handle post-completion tasks: registration at HM Land Registry, transmit completed documents to clients and lenders, ensure file closure and archiving.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEx) or equivalent experience within a similar role (3-5 years experience).
* Proven experience managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters in England & Wales.
* Knowledge of residential property law, conveyancing process and regulatory/compliance requirements.
* Excellent client-care skills; ability to communicate clearly with clients and third parties; strong attention to detail in documentation and procedural work.
* Able to work independently, meet deadlines, manage competing priorities and maintain the highest standards of professional integrity and confidentiality.
