Job Summary
ESS Employment Ltd is looking for a CNC Sliding Head Setter and Operator to set and/or operate various CNC machines using Fanuc, Siemens & Mazatrol control panels. The role involves monitoring machining processes to ensure finished parts meet high standards.
Location & Hours
Location: Stroud
Hours: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday; 07:30 – 12:30 Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £15.00 – £20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate sliding head CNC machines.
- Program and adjust Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazatrol control panels.
- Monitor machining processes and ensure parts meet quality and tolerance requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Load materials and maintain machinery.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience programming/setting sliding head machines.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Mazatrol control systems.
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe/Setter/Operator/Miller/Turner.
- Mechanical engineering background.
- Reading engineering drawings.
- Operating/loading machinery.
- Working within an engineering environment with high profile customers.
- Experience operating and setting sliding head machines.
- Ability to set intricate parts for milling.
- Flexible and adaptable to complete tasks within fine tolerances.
- Experience with precision components.
- Experience with Star and Citizen sliding head programming would be a significant benefit.
