Cover Supervisor - Winchester
Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary and primary schools in the Winchester area. This role involves stepping into the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre‑prepared lesson content, and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task.
You will be responsible for maintaining a structured learning environment, managing behaviour, and supporting students with their work. This is a great opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
Work is available on a full‑time or flexible day‑to‑day basis, depending on your availability.
The Role:
Deliver pre‑prepared lesson content across a range of subjects
Supervise pupils and maintain classroom routines
Manage behaviour in line with school expectations
Support students with learning tasks and engagement
Cover a variety of subjects as required
Provide cover for both pre‑planned and short‑notice absences
Maintain a calm and structured classroom environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, etc.)
Confident leading a classroom independently
Strong communication and organisational skills
Calm, adaptable, and professional approach
Comfortable covering a range of subjects
Graduates and aspiring teachers encouraged to apply

Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: Winchester
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full‑time or day‑to‑day
Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with young people essential
Behaviour‑management experience beneficial
Safeguarding training can be provided
