Job Description Role Purpose (Job Profile): To provide day-to-day support to the Quality Inspection Manager of Composite Inspection Department, metallic inspection department and NDT over the weekend shift. Focus on quality inspection of in-house and subcontracted Components to meet our programme delivery. Candidates from either discipline noted above considered for this role with duties in respective discipline to be in parallel with team leader duties. Main Duties: Ensure all manufactured components conform to design specification using metrology tools, 1st principal measurements or NDT techniques. Ensure department adherence to business-critical process data capture requirements including Time Evaluation System (TES) and the Manufacturing Execution System 9MESTEC). Monitor KPI’s for productivity within the department and enact measures as required to achieve. Escalation of non-conforming parts via the NCR process. Embed best-practice metrology processes or NDT processes to optimise department productivity. Management and operational ownership of department Operational Performance Management system. Manage department personnel discipline and timekeeping. Identify and implement department changes to optimise overall performance and output. Ensure thorough handovers to the next shift to enable seamless transition. Key Accountabilities: Fulfil all organisational expectations, including but not limited to the following: Understand and work in line with Williams Values & Behaviours, encouraging others to do the same. Ensure understanding of and compliance with health and safety obligations. Maintain personal high standards of behaviour and conduct, being a positive ambassador for the department. Ensure you adhere to brand rules and maintain high standards of department presentation. Work to quality standards and identify and contribute ways to continuously improve department and personal performance. Ensure understanding of cost cap rules and requirements. Core Competencies: Strong communication skill to encourage positive relationships with other departments. Ability to coach and mentor direct reports to drive high performance and best practice. Ability to provide constructive feedback to management, offering solutions and improvements to reduce process lead times and increase productivity. Qualifications and Experience Level: Degree or similar in engineering. Demonstrated experience working in Quality Inspection or NDT department required. Experience in managing a small team is desirable. Experience working in motorsport / F1 industry is beneficial.
