Pay and Hours
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £12.92 an hour; this increases to £14.05 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for fewer hours (minimum of 12). We are flexible and open to your availability.
We schedule your shifts within the availability windows, with 3 weeks’ notice provided. We welcome applicants with similar availability but not exact matches, to discuss flexibility.
Customer Focus
As the face of Tesco, you’ll deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, engaging with customers in their homes daily. This role involves more than driving: helping others and delivering excellent service with a smile is key.
This hands-on role is full of variety. No two shifts are the same. You’ll deliver to customers, supported by managers and colleagues back at the store.

Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays are clean and organized.
* Keep the delivery area tidy and pick up litter.
* Wash trays as required.
* Load the van and check its roadworthiness.
* Communicate with customers about order changes and substitutions, offering refunds if needed.
* Handle products carefully.
* Explain substitution charges clearly.
* Deliver within the specified time slot.
* Call customers if arriving early or late.
Requirements
* Build positive relationships with colleagues.
* Be warm, welcoming, and understanding with customers and team members.
* Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change.
* Be energetic and committed to exceeding expectations.
* Share ideas for store improvements.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
