Design Engineer
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our growing in-house team, designing and delivering bespoke fabricated security and automation products.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll take ownership of complete products and projects, from early-stage approvals through to manufacturing and build support.

We design and manufacture bespoke security solutions including gates, bollards and automated access systems for clients across the UK. Our work is practical, fabrication-led and focused on delivering robust, buildable products.
Designs move into production quickly, so you’ll see your work come to life.
The Role
* Take ownership of projects from GA/approval drawings through to manufacturing drawings
* Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and 2D CAD
* Create drawing packs for fabricated products including sheet metal and weldments
* Coordinate mechanical designs interfacing with hydraulics, electrics and automation
* Support structural checks and design verification where required
* Prepare and manage BOMs and support documentation
* Work closely with Production and Projects to ensure smooth delivery
* You’ll typically have a number of projects running at once, offering variety and exposure across different product types.
What We’re Looking For
* SolidWorks experience is essential
* Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes would be ideal
* Organised and comfortable managing multiple projects
* Practical and commercially aware
* Commutable to Epping (office-based role)
* Hydraulics / electrical / PLC exposure – not essential
* Structural calculations
* This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, ownership and seeing projects through to completion, within a supportive and growing engineering environment.
