Our client is a privately owned manufacturer of fitted kitchen and bedroom furniture, operating nationally with about 50% market share in the private housing sector and supplying one in every three kitchens in the social housing market.
Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire.
Hours: Monday to Friday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Transport Planner / Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
* Plan routes for drivers and organise the fleet from on-site and regional depots to meet scheduled deliveries nationwide.
* Organise smaller deliveries from company depots to customer sites.
* Re‑schedule routes at short notice while maintaining efficiency.
* Route the fleet to maximise customer service, ensuring legal compliance with driver working hours and fuel utilisation.
* Assist the team with additional administrative functions within the transport office.
Requirements
* Experience in a fast‑paced transport operations role.
* Experience in transport/vehicle route planning.
* Ability to manage your own workload and meet scheduled daily duties.
* Ability to work within a small team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to pass information to drivers.
* Keen interest in the company, its products, and reputation.
* Professional appearance and ability to give a good first impression.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong time‑keeping and time‑management skills.
* Willingness to learn new personal and professional skills.
