Project Manager—Northampton, Sustainable Distribution Centre (NN7 2FR)

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced project manager with a background in the logistics industry. Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering new business implementations that shape the future of logistics and warehousing services.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering new business implementations within agreed timescales and budgets, ensuring the smooth and successful implementation and start‑up. Collaborating with a range of business functions, including operations, IT, HR and HS&E, you will orchestrate activities to deliver the necessary scope while managing risks and issues.
This is a hybrid role based in Northampton, with the opportunity to work up to three days remotely per week (subject to business required) with some UK site‑based travel required, as per project specifications.

Responsibilities
* Provide professional technical advice and service, ensuring that projects are correctly scoped and defined.
* Manage project teams by effectively organising own workload and coordinating internal/third‑party resources to meet deliverables.
* Ensure full budget compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Resolve roadblocks and deliver projects on time and to required technical standards.
* Maintain collaborative relationships and liaise with internal and external customers at a management level.
* Schedule and facilitate meetings and steering committees, providing technical updates.
* Contribute to management processes and reporting into the PMO.
* Enforce company procedures and monitor team performance to meet service levels.
* Coach the team on required skills and provide coaching guidance.
* Enhance customer relationships by providing technical service and implementing initiatives that improve customer satisfaction.
* Remove obstacles to maintain a customer‑focused environment and protect the service reputation.
* Manage day‑to‑day interactions and ensure performance expectations are met.
* Develop team momentum and encourage initiative in daily tasks to meet deadlines.
* Prioritise and organise own workload to meet project objectives.
* Take responsibility for meeting technical standards and maintain budget compliance.
Key Requirements
* A‑levels / NVQ. Bachelor’s Degree (desirable) or equivalent Project Management or Change Management qualification (desirable).
* Proven experience in the logistics industry and in working across functions, cultures and geographies.
* Strong presentation skills and technical experience in project/change management requiring interpretation of complex data and processes.
* Knowledge acquired through part‑professional qualification or significant on‑the‑job experience.
* Ability to motivate a team and manage a small business operation or specific workstream independently.
* Ability to ensure budget compliance and maintain the company’s service reputation.
* High degree of organisational, communication and administrative skills to provide technical advice.
* Ability to engage and influence others, building relationships at a management level with internal and external stakeholders.
* Organise own workload on a day‑to‑day basis to meet challenging deadlines.
* PC literate (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Teams) and capable of creating professional materials.
* Demonstrate an open and honest leadership style, managing day‑to‑day performance of a team or small business operation.
