About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals that residents will enjoy. You’ll uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff on equipment, and cleaning spills, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, following recipes, and considerate communication are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and pursue further training as needed. You must be able to seek advice and report concerns appropriately.
