Job Description
As Estates Maintenance Manager, you will oversee a multidisciplinary maintenance team, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, financial controls, and service delivery targets. You will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external contractors, supporting the Head of Maintenance in strategic and operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance team including technicians, tradespeople, assistants, and gardeners.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Maintain accurate records of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks.
- Monitor and control financial commitments within budgetary limits.
- Deliver timely and effective maintenance services in line with output specifications.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Participate in operational review meetings and represent the estates team when required.
- Act as Authorised Person for HV, LV, and Medical Gas Systems following appropriate training.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Minimum HND in Building Services or related discipline.
- At least 2 years of technical management experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial procedures and reporting (e.g., KPI, WOR).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Ability to interpret complex data and assist with budgeting.
- Electrical background preferred; HV experience beneficial.
