Overview
Our clinicians are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. This role is based at Bescot Hall School, an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education in Walsall, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, autism, and related needs. Therapies are delivered within a joined-up SEND model across our specialist schools and children\s homes. Our young people present with developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and other special educational needs. As a Therapies Assistant you will work under the direct supervision of the onsite Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist, support one-to-one and small group interventions, and help gather information for high-quality assessments. You\ll liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to support the best outcomes and environment for our children and young people.

Responsibilities
* Support the running of one-to-one and small group interventions under the direction of the Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist.
* Gather information for high-quality assessments and contribute to the child\s ongoing planning and review.
* Liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to support the best outcomes and environment for our children and young people.
* Work as part of the team around the child to ensure consistent, holistic support.
Qualifications and requirements
* At least 5 GCSEs (including English).
* Experience with children and young people with SEMH and/or SEN in similar or related roles.
* Good understanding of safeguarding rules and practice.
* A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to contribute to others\ work.
* Honesty and empathy; resilience to handle challenging situations, especially in relation to Special Education / SEMH / SEN / ASD.
