Assistant Buyer

About the Role:
We are assisting an established, but growing SME that is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join their expanding purchasing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow and develop within a business. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day purchasing operations, supporting the wider procurement team, and helping maintain strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, process, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain accurate supplier and product data, including pricing, lead times, and contact details.
Liaise with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
Support reporting, KPI tracking, and purchasing analysis using Excel and ERP systems.
Provide administrative support and cover for team members when required.Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a purchasing or supply chain role preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach.
Confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); ERP experience.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and progress within the role.
