Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor
As a Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibilities will include :
Monitoring contract costs to ensure alignment with agreed budgets.
Ensuring contract compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining accurate contract correspondence records.
Identifying potential financial risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies.
Preparing, submitting, and negotiating final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements.
Collaborating with the Supply Chain for subcontract and supplier procurement, negotiation, and order placement.
Overseeing certification procedures for contract payments / variations and settling final accounts with subcontractors, adhering to agreed terms and conditions.
Quantity Surveyor Specification
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications and attributes :
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a contracting environment
* The ability to work independently and take initiative
HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying, RICS, or CES (or equivalent)
General knowledge of NEC forms of contract
Experience within the rail sector
Capacity to manage a fast-paced, high-volume turnover of orders while maintaining high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders.
Enthusiastic attitude and a proven ability to hit the ground running.
Strong attention to detail.
