My client are a UK subsidiary of a large international business with worldwide operations. They are now seeking a qualified finance professional to take ownership of the finance function and work closely with the senior executive. Duties will include:-
1. Oversee month-end close, journal approvals, variance analysis, and management accounts delivery
2. Lead cost control strategies and drive efficiency improvements across the organization
3. Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and maintain robust financial controls
4. Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders
5. Manage the complete payroll function and HMRC compliance
6. Supervise fixed asset register and ensure accurate capitalization and depreciation
7. Review and approve VAT returns, optimizing tax positions
8. Oversee bookkeeping operations and serve as senior client contact
9. Lead statutory accounts preparation and review
10. Review complex balance sheet reconciliations
11. Manage audit relationships and coordinate responses
12. Lead collaboration with UK departments and Italian headquarters on strategic reporting
13. Manage external tax consultant relationships and oversee tax planning
14. Design analytical dashboards and reports to drive business performance and deliver insights
15. Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant who can work independently as well as work closely with non finance colleagues in order to drive the performance of the company.
