The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom also experience additional mental health challenges such as anxiety, sensory needs, and social communication difficulties.
About the Role:As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of students. Therapy is an essential part of daily life for children with ASD - it helps them to understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, improve social interaction, and build confidence in a safe, structured environment. You will work alongside a skilled team of therapists, psychologists, and teaching staff to deliver consistent, compassionate, and child-centred care.

Supporting children and young people with Autism and associated mental health needsWorking as a Mental Health Assistant within the classroom and during therapy sessionsAssisting therapists and psychologists with the delivery of therapeutic programmesProviding 1:1 and small group emotional and behavioural supportPromoting a positive, nurturing, and structured environment
