Job Description
We are seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer responsible for creating orchestration flows, flow validation, testing, and re-use of automation components. You will leverage Cloud expertise to solve complex business issues and be regarded as a subject matter expert.
The engineer will utilize consulting skills such as questioning, listening, ideas development, rapport building, and subject matter familiarity to accomplish project tasks. Responsibilities include consulting, designing, testing, implementing, managing capabilities, and integrating Cloud solutions into various environments.
Responsibilities
* Identify, architect, design, and implement new automation workflows that meet client requirements and integrate with standard management tools.
* Perform flow and software modifications post-production deployment.
* Install and upgrade infrastructure components.
* Promote standardization and automation during implementation.
* Ensure implementation aligns with engineering repositories and portfolio websites.
* Leverage existing implementation templates for new work requests.
* Meet applicable content standards and document peer reviews.
* Store engineering collateral in approved repositories.
* Produce and review Low Level Designs based on High Level Designs and client needs.
* Deliver projects with high quality and within timelines.
Key Deliverables
* Implement cloud automation per technical plan, including architect tasks if required.
* Ensure customer satisfaction and deliver on commitments.
Requirements
* Degree in computer science, IT, information systems, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in support or related roles.
* Customer-facing experience.
Other Requirements
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Eligible for high-level UK Security clearance.
Personal Skills
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams.
* Effective across technical and non-technical teams.
* Strong communication, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
Technical Skills
* Experience with ITO operations and engineering.
* Relevant experience with Cloud Foundation Automation (Aria, vRA), Orchestrator (vRO), Open Text, Red Hat Ansible, XML, and platforms like Wintel, Linux, Virtualization.
* Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL processes and DXC workflow tools.
* Desirable: Programming skills (Java, Python, PowerShell, etc.), Active Directory, storage, and backup technologies.
