We are seeking an experienced Dietetic Support Worker to support the Perth & Kinross Community Dietetic Team, providing a service to care homes, GP surgeries, community hospitals and people living at home throughout Perthshire. You will assist in providing appropriate nutritional care to individuals, most of whom are experiencing undernutrition for different clinical reasons. You will also be involved in delivering training to staff in different health and care settings and provide organisational and administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the dietetic service. Working with individuals and their carers, you will undertake in person, telephone and Near Me consultations and will also provide remote support via the Inhealthcare system for nutritionally vulnerable care home residents. You will be an active member of the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service Care Home Group and be involved in developing and implementing standards of best practice.
This post would suit an individual with excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and a genuine interest in nutritional care, particularly of older people. Previous experience working in a health or care setting is essential, as are well-developed IT skills. There will also be opportunities to undertake training and develop new skills.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Informal enquiries are welcome and encouraged.
