Residential Unit Manager Care and Support - Highwood Care Home Contract: Full Time Salary: £13.75 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 44 hours per week Residential Unit Manager – Highwood Care Home, Bideford £13.75 per hour | Full Time (44 hours per week) | Days Your leadership. Our residents’ home. A place where care comes to life. Highwood Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built service in the beautiful port town of Bideford. With luxurious surroundings, modern facilities, and stunning coastal views, it’s designed to be a home where comfort, dignity, and joy are part of everyday life. We care for up to 67 residents, offering Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care each delivered with warmth and heart by our exceptional team. We’re now looking for a Residential Unit Manager a natural leader who inspires confidence, nurtures talent, and leads by example. If you’re someone who takes pride in seeing others succeed, who brings compassion to leadership and energy to every shift, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll work three shifts on the floor and have eight supernumerary hours each week to focus on leading, developing, and supporting your team. You’ll also be part of the on-call rota and available for alternate weekends. What you’ll be doing As Residential Unit Manager, you’ll be at the heart of life at Highwood guiding a dedicated team of carers and helping them deliver care that feels personal, genuine, and full of warmth. Your days will be filled with connection and purpose. You’ll lead by example on the floor, supporting your team to deliver care that goes beyond tasks care that recognises the person, their story, and what matters most to them. You’ll encourage your colleagues to take pride in every smile, every comforting word, every small moment that makes a big difference. You’ll build trust and confidence across your team, mentoring new starters, recognising great work, and ensuring everyone feels supported and valued. Whether coordinating a busy shift, supporting with care planning, or making sure residents’ wellbeing is always front and centre, you’ll bring calm, consistency, and kindness to everything you do. At Highwood, you won’t just manage you’ll lead. You’ll create a sense of family, where residents feel at home and your team feels proud to be part of something special.
