Overview
As a Chief Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of engineering leadership, driving technical excellence across high-impact defence programmes. You will lead the development and delivery of engineering solutions that support the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance and infrastructure initiatives. This is a strategic role where your expertise will shape the future of defence engineering and contribute directly to national security.
Responsibilities
* Leading the development and delivery of engineering solutions across multiple infrastructure projects
* Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
* Ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulations and safety requirements
* Collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirements
* Driving innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience
* Extensive experience in engineering leadership within complex infrastructure or defence projects
* Strong understanding of engineering governance and assurance processes
* Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver technical solutions
* Experience in stakeholder engagement and technical decision-making
* Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering or related discipline
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
* Project Management qualifications (e.g. APM PMQ) are desirable
