Role Overview
Your main responsibility will be assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, motivating the team, and ensuring high standards of food quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support menu development, considering nutritional requirements aligned with Champneys' healthy eating philosophy.
2. Assist in recruiting, managing, training, and evaluating kitchen staff to meet high standards.
3. Manage the kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising staff.
4. Update the People System regarding staff hours and complete rotas as instructed.
5. Oversee preparation and presentation of buffets and menu items.
6. Maintain and enhance service and operational standards to maximize guest satisfaction.
7. Ensure staff are trained in and adhere to the healthy eating philosophy.
8. Maintain cleanliness and compliance with legislative standards in the kitchen.
9. Order food supplies, check prices and quality, and ensure use of nominated suppliers.
10. Control food costs and minimize wastage.
