Overview
This post is fixed term/Secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
The position involves working as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse on Ward 7 Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward.
Applicants will also be required to undertake mentorship of Student Nurses and preceptorship of newly qualified nurses whilst assisting the ward sisters, and ensuring that the Fundamentals of Care are maintained to a high standard.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* NMC Reg Nurse
* Advanced Life Support or willingness to undertake

* Degree in Nursing or relevant clinical/professional subject

Experience

* Significant post reg experience at band 5
* Experience within an appropriate clinical area

* Experience of undertaking audit work and standard setting
