Global Category Manager
London (1 day per week) – £60,000–£85,000 + Package
Job Introduction
Take on a high-impact global role as a Global Category Manager, driving strategic sourcing across a range of direct categories within a fast-moving international environment. You will shape global category strategy, influence senior stakeholders across multiple regions, and lead major European sourcing initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful commercial impact while championing innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver global category strategies that enhance performance, improve cost efficiency, and support long-term business objectives.
* Partner with senior regional stakeholders to understand business needs, drive standardisation, and unlock cross-regional commercial value.
* Use market intelligence—including material trends, supply markets, and regulatory developments—to identify opportunities and strengthen competitiveness.
* Build and manage strategic partnerships with key suppliers across Europe and internationally.
* Lead commercial negotiations, secure strong contractual terms, and ensure compliance with global procurement best practice.
* Apply data-driven insights (volume consolidation, spec optimisation, cost-driver analysis) to improve decision-making and deliver measurable savings.
* Champion innovative, sustainable, and value-driven solutions to support the business’s long-term strategic goals.
Ideal Candidate
* Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field; MCIPS preferred.
* Strong procurement background in direct categories (e.g., ingredients, materials, components, manufacturing inputs) — however, candidates from an indirect category background will also be considered.
* A strategic thinker with the capability to translate strategy into hands-on delivery.
* Skilled influencer with strong stakeholder engagement experience across multiple markets and functions.
* Highly analytical with excellent commercial acumen.
* Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
