The client
Our client is looking for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer to support their transition from a hybrid setup to a fully cloud-first environment. You'll join a focused infrastructure team delivering secure, reliable, and scalable services across the Group, working with modern tooling and playing a key part in improving our security posture. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of technical escalations, support key projects, and help shape an environment built on Azure, Intune, Office 365, and strong security fundamentals. Occasional travel to the clients Nottingham head office and other UK sites will be required.

What you'll be doing
Managing and improving core IT infrastructure across Azure, Windows Server, Intune, and Office 365.
Handling technical escalations from the Service Desk and delivering root cause analysis.
Working with MSPs and vendors to maintain performance and security standards.
Supporting the planning and delivery of infrastructure and security projects.
Monitoring performance, capacity, and security posture, and driving improvements.
Maintaining documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
Supporting patch management, vulnerability remediation, and wider security activities.
Assisting service transition into BAU and supporting supplier selection and tender processes.
Taking part in an out-of-hours rota for critical incidents and travelling for on-site support when required.
What you'll bring
Essential
Minimum 2+ years in a hands-on IT infrastructure role.
Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments (Azure, O365).
Strong technical grounding in Windows Server, Azure AD, Intune, networking fundamentals, IAM, patching, monitoring, and backup/recovery.
Experience working with MSPs or third-party suppliers.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Methodical, organised, and able to handle competing priorities.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Azure certifications, MCP, CompTIA A+.
Endpoint management experience (Intune).
Exposure to security operations or compliance frameworks.
PowerShell or automation skills.
Knowledge of SIEM tooling such as Microsoft Sentinel.
