Job Title: HGV Workshop Controller – Ex-HGV Technician Required
Location: Barking, East London
Salary: £42,000 – £51,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Controller to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy fleet workshop in Barking. This is a hands-on leadership position where your background as an HGV Technician will be essential for guiding the team, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring all work meets safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate daily workshop operations
Allocate jobs to technicians, ensuring efficiency and productivity
Carry out quality checks on completed work
Support and mentor team members with technical issues
Maintain accurate records of work and parts usage
Ensure health & safety compliance at all times
Requirements
Essential: Previous experience as an HGV Technician
Proven workshop supervisory or controller experience
Strong understanding of HGV diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
