Job Title: Family Housing Management Officer

Location: Luton (Actual location hidden due to confidentiality)

Salary: £24,500

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 18:00 with flexibility as needed

Note: Due to the nature of the service, the post holder must be female. The role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1.


About the role

Based within women’s accommodation supporting homeless families in Luton, the service manages 7 units supporting:

* Expectant mothers
* Mothers with up to two children under 10
* Single women aiming for guardianship of their children

The role involves working with families to develop skills to end homelessness and achieve independent living, providing support from basic guidance to intensive assistance in areas like domestic violence, mental health, substance use, parenting, and safety.

You will offer flexible, personalized support through sessions, activities, signposting, and wellbeing initiatives, including support with custody, mediation, supervised contact, and creating safe environments. Support may extend to other services, including lone working in a residential for males.


About you

We seek someone passionate about supporting women facing challenges affecting their families. You should be empathetic, motivating, adaptable, and creative, with experience in:

* Working with individuals with complex needs, especially mental health
* Creating support, care, and co-produced plans
* Understanding housing and social needs and social marginalization

Essential skills include empathy, empowerment, IT proficiency (CRM systems, Microsoft Office), and a genuine desire to make a difference.
