We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our AFT Drinks, Licensed Wholesale team.
AFT Drinks is a dynamic and experienced drinks company passionate about providing our customers with a wide range of quality products and excellent service. We aim to be your go-to source for all things drinks and to help our brand partners succeed in the market.
Our extensive portfolio includes nearly 2,000 products across spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks, and other bar essentials. From well-loved classics to exclusive, hard-to-find gems, we have something for everyone. We are proud to be the exclusive agent or distributor for premium brands such as Hinch Whiskey, MacIvors Cider, Muff Liquor Spirits, and a range of wines including Mionetto Prosecco, Mouton Cadet, Dada, Most Wanted Wines, and Isla Negra.
We are now accepting applications for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the AFT Drinks business within Northern Ireland through effective sales, margin control, and relationship management.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop the AFT Drinks business through effective sales growth and relationship management in both the on and off-trades within a set geographical area.
2. Achieve quarterly sales and margin targets aligned with the overall objectives of the AFT Drinks business.
3. Grow the key account business by developing existing relationships and opening new accounts.
4. Win and develop profitable new business opportunities, collaborating with the broader AFT Drinks team.
5. Expand on and off-trade wine sales by increasing market share and securing new on-trade wine lists.
6. Implement the company's marketing plans, driving promotions and new product development (NPD).
7. Ensure full compliance with the company's credit control policy.
8. Work with support functions including logistics, trading, marketing, and telesales to enhance customer service.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
* A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a proactive field-based sales role, with experience in the licensed trade considered an advantage.
* Proven success in growing sales and achieving targets within the industry.
* Strong commercial acumen and customer focus.
* Ability to make decisions, meet targets, and work under pressure.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* A people person capable of networking and building strong working relationships.
* A full clean driving license.
* Competent in MS Office, including Excel and Word.
* A strong understanding of the drinks industry.
* An interest or knowledge of the wine industry is desirable.
