Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a PRU setting in Hartlepool, starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships and make a long-term impact on pupils' lives, progress, and development.
About the Setting:
* The role is based in an inspirational PRU in Hartlepool.
* The school supports pupils across the secondary age range, with opportunities to support all year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
* The school has an outstanding supportive culture and leadership team, with staff working collaboratively within classrooms to support pupils effectively.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
* Full-time contract until July 2025 (end of the academic year). Temporary contract.
* Start date: September.
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream school, including those with challenging behaviors and diverse SEN needs.
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, with SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
* Building rapport and positive relationships to help pupils engage with learning and develop academically and socially.
* Understanding different learning needs and styles, working closely with teachers and colleagues.
Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
* Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare qualification (desired).
* Experience working with children in UK schools.
* Experience in an SEN school or PRU (desired).
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
* Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
* Legal right to work in the UK.
* Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one.
* Two professional references from the last two years.
