We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join our Operational Workforce Team as a Workforce Officer Attendance Management. This role is key in supporting managers and staff across the Health Board to manage sickness absence effectively and provide generalist HR advice.
Responsibilities
* Support managers and staff across the Health Board to manage sickness absence effectively and provide generalist HR advice.
* Work closely with operational teams, HR colleagues, and Occupational Health to ensure timely support in line with the All Wales Managing Attendance at Work Policy.
* Contribute to reducing sickness absence rates by analysing data, identifying trends, and supporting managers to take appropriate action.
* Advise on the application of the Managing Attendance at Work Policy, attend review meetings, interpret Occupational Health reports, and coordinate ill‑health retirement cases.
* Analyse sickness absence data, identify trends and priorities, recommend improvements, maintain accurate records, track case progression, plan and schedule review meetings.
* Provide generalist HR support including disciplinary cases, respect and resolution issues, and organisational change; attend hearings or investigation meetings, provide policy guidance, take minutes where required, and support completion of associated paperwork.
* Draft letters, maintain HR files in line with retention standards, coordinate documentation for hearings and input information into HR systems.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and strong organisational ability.
* Proactive and motivated individual.
* Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome.
* A willingness to meet Welsh Language minimal requirements if not currently met.
