The Straits Primary School was opened in 1968 and is situated in a very pleasant area near Cotwall End Valley and within walking distance of Cotwall End Nature Centre. Baggeridge Country Park and the grounds of Himley Hall are also not far away. The school is a Local Authority school (deemed to be a Community Primary School) teaching pupils from the ages of 4 to 11 years. At present there are 14 classes from Reception to Year 6. A full-time (although 4 days considered) Year 3 class teacher is required from Monday 13th April 2026 to cover Maternity Leave (likely until Easter 2027).
