Overview
Account Manager: Technical Sales in Automation and Robotics, near Leicester. Salary: cGBP50k depending on experience and qualifications + benefits.
Our client has almost fifty years of expertise in the design, development and manufacture of bespoke automation and robotic systems for a diverse range of industry sectors and is regarded as a leading automation system solution provider in the UK. They are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly self-motivated Account Manager: Technical Sales to complement the sales team and maximise opportunities with existing and new clients through automation and robotic solution sales (anticipated 80:20 split with a bias toward existing account management).
As an Account Manager: Technical Sales, you will work in an Automation and Robotics Sales environment near Leicester, liaising with internal and external customers to develop and grow a realistic pipeline from primarily existing clients as well as new clients, handle enquiries quickly and accurately, and ensure delivery of your sales targets.
Responsibilities
* Attend customer sites to nurture relationships and identify current and future requirements; recommend enhancements, modifications or upgrades that are commercially advantageous.
* Create and maintain Sales Analysis Sheets for each enquiry.
* Report enquiry results in the weekly Sales Meeting and provide visibility of future enquiries and potential market demands or competitor developments.
* Create financially viable and commercially beneficial quotations and have them reviewed internally before sending to the customer.
* Understand the budgetary and timescale requirements for the enquiry.
* Maintain regular communications with the customer throughout the life of the enquiry.
* Set up Sales Handover meetings to transfer details of the order to the technical team and support the project team and the customer throughout the project lifecycle as required.
Qualifications and experience
To be considered, the successful candidate should have sales and account management experience in automation systems, ideally within the automotive sector. A minimum of HND level or above in a relevant engineering or business-related discipline is preferred. You should be self-motivated, well-organised, with strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills at all levels. Travel within the UK and overseas may be required.
