Summary
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join the Management Accounts team. The role involves providing proactive management accounting support to a Trust division, preparing accurate financial reports, and advising on financial strategy.
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
* Support all aspects of financial management, liaising with budget holders and maintaining monthly reporting.
* Assist with forecasts and budget setting.
* Produce monthly budget statements from the ledger in accordance with Trust reporting timetables.
* Deliver high‑quality financial reports and analyses, including non‑financial data that identifies and explains directorate variances and trends.
* Act autonomously and provide financial advice to non‑financial colleagues, supporting business cases, long‑term planning and complex financial analysis.
* Serve as a financial expert for assigned areas, advising on operational decision making.
* Support the Senior Finance Manager with forecasting, costing, budget setting and income/expenditure analysis as required.
* Provide management accounting support to a number of budget holders and deliver a timely service to all directorates.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Part‑qualified or equivalent degree (e.g., AAT).
* Continuous Professional Development.
* Finance experience.
* Financial management knowledge and skills.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and financial packages.
Desirable:
* Grades achieved.
* NHS experience.
* Understanding of NHS finance regime.
* Good IT and communication skills.
