Role Type Permanent What you'll be doing: Toxicology Analyst to assess the safety of raw ingredients and products during development and throughout their lifecycle, assess safety testing needs for products in development, and help design and co-ordinate clinical safety testing to evaluate product safety and support safety-related claims. Key responsibilities: We are seeking a Toxicology Analyst to join the Toxicology & Clinical Safety team at Avon Cosmetics. The successful candidate will use their expertise to assess the safety of raw ingredients and products during development and throughout their lifecycle. They will perform scientific literature searches, assess in vitro toxicology and/or clinical testing needs for products in development, and prepare safety reports. They will help design and co-ordinate clinical safety testing to evaluate product safety and support safety-related claims. A successful candidate in this position will need to remain flexible and support projects and work streams within the department as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide on-time, scientifically robust safety assessments to support new raw ingredients and cosmetic product launches and to maintain in-line product portfolio. Assist with performing in depth literature searches on safety information to support special safety projects and industry-wide issues, summarise and present recommendations to management. Co-ordinate clinical safety testing to evaluate product safety and support safety-related claims Prepare safety dossiers for new formulas Skills and Expertise Masters/PhD in Toxicology (or related biological science discipline with an emphasis in Toxicology). 0-5 years relevant experience of safety assessment, with cosmetics experience being an advantage. Experience in conducting clinical studies, managing information and writing safety dossiers would be beneficial, but not a requirement. Excellent communication skills and ability to write clearly and concisely. Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders. Attention to detail; ability to prioritise, think independently, implement solutions and meet timelines. Ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility to accommodate fluctuating project and study scheduling requirements in a fast paced environment.
