We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic about enabling individuals to live safely and independently in their own homes.
About the Team
The Occupational Therapy Team at Telford & Wrekin Council delivers a broad range of services aimed at promoting independence and well‑being. The team’s core responsibilities include the assessment, recommendation, provision, and review of equipment, minor works, and major adaptations, primarily through the Disabled Facilities Grant. Additionally, the team operates a Smarter Care Service, which reviews existing care packages and recommends adjustments to ensure appropriate levels of support—whether through single-handed care or revised care durations.

Responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to assess those with an illness or disability, to support them to live at home safely and as independently as possible, with a variety of therapeutic, equipment and adaptation solutions utilising the Disabled Facilities Grant. There is an opportunity to work with a variety of complex health conditions including Stroke, Parkinson’s, MND, amputations and Palliative cases as well as a variety of adult ages. The role has opportunities to develop clinical reasoning skills and work with individuals through the whole OT process; getting the satisfaction of seeing the impact of your intervention.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must be a qualified Occupational Therapist and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
We will consider newly qualified applicants for this role and are intending to develop a programme of support for such candidates, alongside training and development opportunities for all candidates.
You must be a qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with HCPC.
