Job Summary
Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to support stockroom operations and dispatch coordination. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth handling of inventory, accurate record-keeping, and timely dispatch of orders. You will be responsible for maintaining stockroom cleanliness, assisting with inventory control, and preparing shipments, playing a crucial role in the supply chain and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect, and organize incoming stock and materials.
* Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
* Label, pack, and dispatch orders according to delivery schedules.
* Coordinate with courier/logistics teams to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
* Replenish stock as required and notify management of shortages or discrepancies.
* Ensure stockroom is clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
* Assist in regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
* Report any damaged or missing inventory to the supervisor immediately.
* Work collaboratively with team members across procurement, dispatch, and customer service departments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or warehousing certification is a plus.
* Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Excel, Inventory Software).
* Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment (training provided if needed).
* Physically fit – able to lift, carry, and move items safely.
* Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Experience
* Entry-level to 2 years of relevant experience in warehouse, stockroom, or logistics support preferred.
* Freshers with strong work ethic and eagerness to learn are welcome to apply.
Working Hours
* Full-time position.
* Rotational shifts or fixed day shifts depending on workload.
* Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Some flexibility required for dispatch deadlines).
