As part of the Schindler team, you’ll contribute to making places more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for all. This is a full-time, permanent role based out of our Northfleet Office, covering London, with a four on, four off night shift between 7pm and 7am for one of our clients in London.
The Technician will carry out planned preventive maintenance as determined by contract terms, improve equipment condition to reduce technical callbacks and downtime, and perform minor repairs and lifecycle replacement of components while adhering to company safety and conduct procedures.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures
* Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment during breakdowns and verify correct functioning
* Check lift function as part of maintenance using approved tooling and protective equipment
* Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of lift installations in accordance with approved procedures; reinstate lifts and complete service documentation
* Perform fault finding and diagnostics using a range of techniques, manuals and test equipment, restoring equipment to service
* Work in accordance with Company Occupational Health and Safety policies to ensure compliance with UK legal requirements and Schindler safety standards
* Maintain a personal commitment to safe behaviour and contribute to the Company safety objectives where applicable
* Support safety systems and implement changes as required
* Demonstrate experience and capability to meet high levels of service for the client
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs with call-out experience
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in lift maintenance
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Flexibility
* Good problem-solving skills
* Good communication skills with clients, service management and inspectors
* Full UK driving licence
