KO-NEKT is a dynamic and growing organization offering one-to-one and group support for children and young people (ages 5–25) withAdditional Support Needs (ASN). Our services are designed to promote independence, build confidence, and help young people reach their full potential through inclusive, community-based support.
Role Summary
We’re looking for an experienced and compassionateASN Support Practitionerto join our team inAyr. This role involves working bothwithin our centreand1:1 in the community, supporting children with ASN andchallenging behaviours. Your role will focus on building trusting relationships, encouraging development, and helping young people thrive in a supportive, engaging environment.
Hours of Work
Approx. 20 hours per weekon a 7-day shift pattern:
* Term Time:Weekdays, 3pm–8pm
* School Holidays:9am–5pm or 9am–8pm (depending on the day)
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support based on individual care plans
* Support young people in structured activities, skill-building, and play
* Deliver 1:1 care in the community and in our Ayr-based centre
* Monitor and record progress using the SHANARRI framework and our CORS system
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
* Liaise with the Service Manager regarding challenges or observations
* Attend training, meetings, and continuous professional development
* Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and adhere to all health and safety policies
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children with ASN and challenging behaviours is essential
* Driving license and access to a car is required
* Relevant qualification or substantial experience in health, social care, education or childcare
* Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and school holidays
* Active, confident, and able to support physical play or activities
* Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset
* Comfortable with IT systems for recording outcomes (training provided)
