We are looking for a Senior Strategic Stakeholder & Events Advisor to identify, analyse and help the Environment Agency engage internal and external parties—including eNGOs, businesses, regulators, government and community groups—on the environmental outcomes we are collectively aiming to achieve, and manage our wide events portfolio, leading a small team.

We are looking for someone who is adept with data, a self‑starter, has extensive experience developing stakeholder mapping and analysing it, and can use the information to guide our engagement strategies across a wide range of topics from water to waste, hydrogen to hydrogeology and beyond. You will also be an inspirational and driven team leader with high standards who enjoys working with a wide range of people.


Key Responsibilities

* Identify E&B’s top stakeholders and map their interests, influence and impact.
* Develop strategy to inform tailored stakeholder engagement plans and communication strategies, including horizon scanning for events.
* Act as the stakeholder management and events lead for colleagues engaging with key partners, fostering collaboration and managing expectations.
* Proactively identify potential conflicts or risks with stakeholders and work with colleagues to find solutions.
* Maintain a stakeholder intelligence database, ensuring accurate records are held, prepare information dashboards and ensure compliance across E&B.
* Plan and facilitate EA attendance at significant meetings, conferences and events, prepare briefings, gather input/intelligence and report on progress.


Qualifications and Experience

* Clear, passionate and proactive communicator with the ability to build relationships and collaborate at all levels.
* Ability to troubleshoot tricky situations by listening, reflecting and questioning to understand facts and find resolutions.
* Strategic mindset with evidence of delivering against plans.
* Good IT skills to improve productivity.
* Outstanding organisation and multi‑tasking skills.
* Ability to manage difficult situations and conversations to support team leaders.
* Experience working effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and actively encouraging others to consider diversity issues in their work.
