IRecruit4 are hiring for an experienced Yard & Plant Machinery Manager for our client, based near Daventry. This position is a full time permanent position, offering an immediate start and fantastic rates of pay. You will be looking after and performing basic maintenance of plant machinery, organising machinery for loading and distribution across the UK for projects. Job Summary: Our client is seeking a reliable and hands-on Yard/Plant Machinery Manager with strong mechanical experience to oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard. Your job will be the planning and maintenance of machinery and equipment that will be going to sites across the UK; and also to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced. This role is ideal for someone with a background in mechanics who can manage inventory, organise logistics, and perform or oversee routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles. Key Responsibilities of the Yard Manager: Manage the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the yard and work areas. Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of company equipment (e.g., trucks, trailers, generators, small & large Agriculture machines). You will need to have experience of hands on plant maintenance Schedule and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to reduce equipment downtime. Maintain accurate records of service and repair history for all assets. Coordinate with outside vendors for specialised repairs or part procurement when needed. Manage incoming and outgoing inventory, deliveries, and shipments. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist with loading and unloading of materials when necessary. Support logistics and operations teams with equipment allocation and yard logistics. Qualifications and experience for the Yard Manager: Proven experience as a Yard Manager, Mechanic, or in a similar role. Strong mechanical background; ability to diagnose and perform minor repairs equipment (oil change, replace bulbs, looms etc) Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is a plus. Familiarity with maintaining heavy machinery and tools. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure. £32,000 - £38,000 per annum.
