Are you confident, energetic with a positive attitude?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team at a primary school.

About the Role:

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will work closely with children who have SEND, including autism, ADHD, and other emotional and behavioural challenges. You will be instrumental in promoting positive behaviour, implementing individualised support plans, and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Your role will involve supporting students both in and outside of the classroom, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEND, particularly those requiring behavioural support.
* Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and address challenging behaviours.
* Work alongside teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
* Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
* Assist in managing classroom routines, ensuring a positive and structured environment.
* Work with external professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure holistic support for students.
* Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.

To thrive as an SEN Teaching Assistant, it's essential that you have:

* Experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a school or educational setting.
* A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help children reach their full potential.
* Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
* A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Behavioural Support is desirable but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Degree holders or applicants holding an NVQ/Level 3 qualification in Childcare are welcome as are Teaching Assistants with experience in school settings.
