A vacancy may arise for a Flight Lieutenant (Any Profession; however, preference will be given to Aircrew or Air & Space Operations) to serve as Display Air Wing, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) at RAF Coningsby on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 25 May 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status and position being vacated). As the BBMF OM, you will support the Display Wing ASM in delivering an effective BBMF Air Safety Management System (ASMS) and advising the DAW Delivery Duty Holder (DDH), ADH Chain, Wg and OC BBMF on all aspects DASOR management and all aspects of Air Safety (AS). The role will be based out of RAF Coningsby with the option to work from DAW HQ at RAF Waddington. You will be responsible to the DDH for: Policy Supporting continuous improvement for the DAW Air Safety Management System (ASMS). Advising and guiding the DDH, nominated deputies, ORG members and others on the application of the RAF Just Culture policy. Developing, compiling and monitoring KPIs, information and statistics as directed. Risk Management Occurrence Management of BBMF DASORs, including managing ASIMS, assigning investigators, progressing reports for closure and organising DMGs as required. Liaison with UFSOs and LEMSCOs to progress DASORs, monitoring and / or completing Local Investigations (LIs) as required. Overseeing the conduct of Occurrence Safety Investigations and providing admin and SME support to Occurrence Review Groups as required. Conduct OSIs and ORGs as required. Reviewing weekly, all ongoing investigations to ensure satisfactory progress and to enable direction to be given to the LI / OIs when required. Acting as Sec for DRG and PRRG. Analysing received reports for trends and communicating same to the DH chain. Assurance Support the Display Wg BBMF Risk Manager by providing DASOR led evidence for the ASSC and BowTies. Delivering 1PA of BBMF elements of the DW ASMS and maintaining the BBMF ASMS Objectives (Leaflet 102) accordingly. Air Safety Promotion Tracking BBMF AS personnel trg requirements to ensure that they remain SQEP. Delivering AS publications to promote continuous improvement and awareness of current AS issues and risks. Staffing, coordination and encouragement of FS awards iaw relevant RAs and DW policy, as directed by the DH chain.
