AHP Lead – Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a therapist with a strong interest and experience in neurology, and a passion for community service provision, to lead the Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team (THCNT). Based at Mile End Hospital, you will be part of a large, friendly and highly successful multidisciplinary team delivering neurorehabilitation and disability management to patients in their own homes, or on-site in the gym or clinic. The team comprises Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, a Neuro Navigator and Rehabilitation Support Workers, all working collaboratively to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for community working and previous experience in neurology, along with excellent communication skills, initiative, enthusiasm and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. There is close integrated working with a number of multi‑agency stakeholders, including but not limited to, the wider Neurological service within Barts Health, other community health services, primary care services and the local authority.
Main duties of the job
To provide operational and clinical leadership to the Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team (THCNT).
To support the team in identifying; managing & delivering a range of health care interventions in the community to support people in their own homes and/or other community settings.
To provide clinical / professional supervision to the Allied Health Professionals within professional field.
To provide line management to Allied Health Professionals and administrative staff within THCNT.
The post holder will be able to work autonomously and support the THCNT in undertaking assessments and planning care to support diagnosis, provide interventions, refer appropriately and lead the coordination of care, working with other Community Health Services, Primary Care, Acute services, partner agencies and key stakeholders.

Person Specification
Experience
* Extensive post graduate experience of working at band 7 level or comparable senior level
* Extensive experience of supervision of senior and junior staff, students and assistants including HR management
* Operational management experience in a complex environment
* Experience of successfully leading and implementing service improvement and QI projects within a service / department
* Working across and leading Trust wide projects
* Experience proposing and overseeing solutions to complex problems
* Experience of teaching using a variety of strategies to post graduate staff
* Experience of managing a budget

* Involvement in relevant professional special interest group
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy / Occupational therapy/ SLT
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of CPD including attendance at post graduate course/training relevant to clinical specialty
* Evidence of relevant Masters level qualification or equivalent specialist experience.
* Leadership training
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/ College of OTs /RCSLT
