Practice Consultant - Social Worker 8822 | Permanent contract | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum (Scale K) | 37 hours per week | Attleborough Enterprise & Community Centre
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment.
Role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Consultant to work with the Team Manager to support our duty older people and physical disabilities team in Adult Social Services. Our team takes all incoming referrals to the Southern locality area and the duty team provide telephone based support to assist in ensuring imminent safety and wellbeing, provide urgent responses to crisis management and arrange interim care measures.
You will work with your Team Manager to ensure your team of Assistant Practitioners have a strength-based approach, considering options such as OT intervention, community assets and family support. You will be a Social Worker by background, with some experience of leading and supporting others in managing complex situations, for example involving the Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding or housing issues. You will have the confidence and ability to support and motivate your team to achieve outstanding performance as meeting timescales is a strategic priority. This may be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker or OT looking for a first post in a management role where you will receive support and encouragement to develop your leadership skills. Travel will be required to support team members at outlying bases. Nominal workbase is negotiable but willingness to support across the county would be essential. Interviews will take place via video technology, where you will have the opportunity to discuss these working arrangements. Who this is for
Norwich is the county capital of Norfolk, 120 miles from London and 60 miles from Cambridge. It's on the edge of the Broads National Park, and a 40-minute drive to the seaside.
