About The Role and Person
Capel Manor College seeks a Practical Instructor in Animal Management to support teaching staff across Animal Management courses by providing practical demonstration and technical instruction to students. Practical Instructors supervise small groups of students to develop practical skills by demonstrating the appropriate skills, methods and techniques, including tasks such as feeding, handling and exercising animals. They ensure that students can demonstrate the required skills and behaviours for successful completion of their qualification and maintain health and safety for both students and animals during practical sessions.
Responsibilities
* Support teaching staff across Animal Management courses by providing practical demonstrations and technical instruction.
* Supervise small groups of students to develop practical skills, demonstrating the appropriate skills, methods and techniques.
* Demonstrate tasks such as feeding, handling and exercising animals.
* Ensure students can demonstrate the skills and behaviours required for their qualification.
* Maintain health and safety for students and animals during practical sessions.
Qualifications
* Hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management.
* Experience caring for animals.
* Experience training and instructing others to work with animals; education sector experience is not essential but desirable.
